In The Event Of An Explosion

  • Activate the red alarm pull station then from a safe phone call 911, inform them of the explosion, and give them the following information;
    • Building address
    • Nearest known cross streets
    • Location within building; i.e., floor and suite number
  • Contact building management and inform them of the situation.
  • Be prepared for possible recurring or additional explosions.
  • Protect yourself from possible hazards.
  • Wait for further instructions from emergency personnel or building management. If relocation or evacuation is ordered, follow their instructions and go to the area directed.
  • If you are able, help people who are injured. Do not move seriously injured people unless they are in obvious and immediate danger from threats such as fire.
  • Open doors carefully, feeling the door for heat first. Watch for falling objects.
  • When relocating or evacuating, use exits or exit stairwells only. Do not use the elevators.
  • Do not use matches, lighters or any other sort of open flame.
  • Avoid using the telephones except to notify the proper authorities.
