Pandemic Procedures
Protect yourself and others against respiratory illness:
-
Wash your hands. This is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do to protect yourself.
-
Cover your nose and mouth when coughing or sneezing. Dispose of any used tissues immediately in a proper waste receptacle. Wash your hands after coughing, sneezing and disposing of used tissues.
-
Ask people around you to follow the same procedures when they cough or sneeze.
-
If you are unable to wash your hands after being in public spaces or using public transit, keep your hands away from your mouth, nose and eyes. This will help prevent you from infection. Wash your hands as soon as possible.
-
Avoid people who are showing influenza symptoms or who are typically at risk for flu until influenza symptoms have dissipated. This includes small children or those with chronic illnesses such as immune suppression.
