In the Event of a Shelter-In-Place Protocol
Being Announced

  • Remain calm. The spread of unsubstantiated rumors will be counter-productive to a safe response.
  • Follow the instructions of emergency personnel.
  • Do not contact the building management office at this time; as they are busy initiating important Shelter-In-Place Procedures.
  • Do not leave the building until it is advised that it is safe to do so. If you choose to leave before it is deemed safe, you may not be allowed back into the building.
  • Utilize your internal and personal resources, such as food, water, radios, batteries, medical supplies, sanitation supplies, and communications equipment, etc., as needed.
  • Relocation to another part of the building may be necessary. If so, emergency personnel will tell you where to go.
  • Elevators, heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems will be shut down.
